This is the memorial commemorating the mutiny of
the Royal Indian Navy, which broke out on February 18, 1946. On the
first day of strike, sailors took over RIN ship Talwar and its wireless
communication centre. They spread the word to other ships and establishments.
By next day, several other ships in Bombay, Karachi and other ports joined the
mutiny. Indian navy named two of its ships after Madan Singh and B. C.
Dutt who participated in the uprising. This memorial which is inaugurated in
December 2001, is a simple, but an elegant one with basic information on the
uprising.
