Ramakrishna Mission, Shivanahalli was started in 1983 as a branch of the Ramakrishna Mutt and Mission, Belur. Carrying out philanthropic and volunteer activities in the hamlets around Bannerghatta forest near Bangalore with an integrated approach towards development. Its focus areas are education, health care, rural development, tribal welfare, environment conservation and culture. There is a junior high school, medical unit, a temple, community centre and a vocational training centre. The area has been developed into a beautiful forest with water bodies. The leading monk is an enthusiastic leader and innovator in service of this service institution.
