Coordinates: 22.8587° N, 87.3407° E
Address: Garbeta, West Midnapore District - 721122, West Bengal,
India
This is a natural canyon located near
Garbeta along the river Shilabati. The road to this place ends with a red rocky
land that leads to a precarious drop to a valley below, where the river
flows across the canyon floor. One can find a number of jagged laterite cliffs which
have been created by the play of wind and water over a number of years to carve
this landscape. As one descends through the cliffs, the colours change to
various hues of yellow. It is believed that the Pandavas, stayed here
during their period of exile. This has
now become a tourist spot.
