The St John’s Church, at Sekpura, Midnapore was
built in 1851 by the Church of England. Midnapore once had a sizeable Christian
population and still has good number of churches with different affiliations. The
yellow building has elegant colonial pillars and a white statue of Jesus
Christ. This church has a tall spire, which is not common in this geography.
There are several graves on the compound of the church.
