Temples excavated from the sand dunes at Talakad were built between 247 to 262 AD. The temples of Keerthinarayana and Talakadu Rama are incredible structures epitomising Chola dynastic architecture. Built with granite following agama sastra, these temples are examples of marvellous workmanship and impeccable skills and creativity. A number of temples are now under renovation and are being used for worship.
