Also called Gavipuram Cave Temple was built in 16th century as a recognition of being released from prison after five years by Rama Raya by the founder of Bangalore for Lord Shiva. There are shrines for Lord Shiva, Agni and Shakti Ganapathi. Sun illuminates Shivalinga twice a year and on Makar Sankranti day sunrays fall on the Shivalinga for an hour as it passes between the horns of the Nandi. There are two giant pillars supporting giant disks of sun and moon and the other pillars have Nandi at the top. This temple is said to have two secret tunnels of which one leads to Garbha Gudi and the other to Varanasi.
