This new 412,300 square feet Museum is the largest LEED Platinum rated public building in the world when it reopened in 2008. It houses a planetarium, a four-storey rain forest and an aquarium. This museum run by California Academy of Sciences along with natural history exhibits, gives visitors a holistic portrait of the world and its diverse past and present inhabitants. This museum presents a sustainable exhibition design in a space bathed in natural light and without walls, in the middle of Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The exhibits are free standing and multi-faceted and discoverable, following a non-linear experience of life. The museum also houses Morrison Planetarium, Rainforests of the World and Steinhart Aquarium. One needs more than a day to go around all the exhibits and to thoroughly experience this incredible museum.
